About Loella

Raised in Sweden and schooled in America, Loella Grahn is a dramatic coloratura soprano praised for bright agility paired with unusual richness and power in embodying the sweet-faced ingenue, the vivacious vixen and the suffering heroine alike.
A lifelong love of metal music led her into the classical field, and she began her studies at Operastudion Kapellsberg in Härnösand, Sweden, a non-degree performance program which later landed her as a Resident Artist at The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Upon her graduation in 2024, she returned to Sweden to take on the European scene. Alongside her passion for literature, poetry and language, she also has a deep interest for politics and social issues, and in her art strives to find the thread of humanity that unites the past and the present.
Firmly rooted on the Swedish countryside, Loella is passionate about bringing the classical arts to new audiences and new generations. By showcasing the grand arts in simple settings, she strives to contribute to rural cultural life and inspire young singers through example and teaching. Away from home, she has appeared on stages in France, Austria, Italy as well as the US.
She is a proud alumna of the Classic Lyric Arts training programs in France and Italy, as well as Kapellsbergs Opera PRO led by court singer Anna Larsson.
